Oliver Jeffers

Army Pfc. Oliver Jeffers, age 31 of
Huntsville, TN passed away on November 10, 1944 at the Hürtgen Forest in
Hürtgen, Germany. Born on October 7, 1913 in Huntsville, TN, he was the son of
the late Daniel and Syrinda Foster Jeffers. He was an active member of the
Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
Army Pfc. Jeffers was assigned to Company L,
3rd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division. He died in World
War II during a battle with German forces in the Hürtgen Forest.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his siblings: Effie and Mart Jeffers, Ethel Jeffers, Edna Jeffers and
Harlin Massey, Ardilla Jeffers, Eva Jeffers and Earl Murley, Goldie Bell
Jeffers, and Clarence Smallwood.
Nieces: Magel Massey and Royal Swisher, Louise
Jeffers and Richard Mansfield and Velia Bell Massey.
Nephews: Daniel Jeffers, James Daniel Murley
and Fayola Lloyd, Jerry Wayne Murley, Jeffery Earl Murley, Harlin Massey, Jr.,
Larry Smallwood, and William Calvin Murley.
He is survived by Flonnie Anderson of
Tazewell, TN, Basil and Judith Massey and family of Huntsville, TN, John Lee
and Bonnie Murley and family of Huntsville, TN, Joseph and Janetta Murley of
Oneida, TN, Jimmy and Connie Swisher and family of Pioneer, TN, Rodney
Dean Smallwood of Oxford, Ohio, Nancy Murley and family of Huntsville, TN; and
many other relatives and friends.
